Librarian – Reference (Full Time)
The Reference Librarian will be responsible for reference services and adult/young adult programming. Job responsibilities also include, but are not limited to: collection development, community outreach, teaching basic computer and technology classes, promoting events and services through social media, and collecting statistics in order to improve our services and program offerings. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about helping patrons with their information and technology needs. Our ideal candidate has excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patrons and staff.
An MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited institution, a New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate (or the qualifications to obtain a certificate by the end of 2019), and a valid NJ driver's license are required.
Residency in New Jersey is required by the "New Jersey First Act" (R.S.52:14-7). If you begin your office, position or employment on September 1, 2011 or later, you must reside in New Jersey.
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply! This position is full time, 35hr/week, with some evening and Saturday shifts. Salary dependent upon experience. Generous medical benefits offered.
