Librarian – Adult Services (Full Time)
The Adult Services Librarian will be responsible for adult/senior programming. Job responsibilities also include but are not limited to: collection development, community outreach, teaching basic computer and technology classes, and collecting statistics in order to improve our services and program offerings. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about helping patrons with their information and technology needs.
An MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA accredited institution is required. Candidates must be in possession of, or qualified for, a New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate. Demonstrated knowledge of current library trends and philosophy expected. Complete ease in use of computers, and enthusiasm for new library technologies is essential.
Residency in New Jersey is required by the "New Jersey First Act" (R.S.52:14-7). If you begin your office, position or employment on September 1, 2011 or later, you must reside in New Jersey. If you do not reside in New Jersey, you have one year after the date you take your office, position or employment to relocate your residence to New Jersey. If you do not do so, you are subject to removal from your office, position or employment.
